🩺 Updates to Medicare Bulk Billing
From July 1st, 2026, Medicare will introduce changes to Assignment of Benefit arrangements for bulk-billed services. As a result, you may be asked to complete an Assignment of Benefit declaration before or shortly after your appointment.
Depending on your appointment and our practice workflows, consent may be completed in person, via SMS or email.
Please note that if consent is not provided, your service may not be able to be processed as bulk billed and private fees may apply.

MyMedicare is a voluntary patient registration system that aims to formalize the relationship between patients, their GP, and primary care teams. By registering as a patient of your chosen general practice and selecting a preferred GP, you can access additional funding from the government to assist your primary care team in delivering the care you need. This system is free to register and is open to all Australians with a Medicare card or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veteran Card. It does not store any clinical health information and ensures your privacy is maintained. MyMedicare is designed to improve health outcomes by providing longer Medicare Benefit Scheme (MBS) funded telehealth consultations*, regular visits from your GP, and better care planning for people. MyMedicare registration makes you a VIP at Holmead Road Medical!

What is the 1800 Medicare App?
Access key health information, seek trusted advice and connect with care, all from the palm of your hand.
• The 1800MEDICARE app is a secure and convenient way to view key health information that consumers, their health care providers or representatives have uploaded to My Health Record.
• It gives individuals access to electronic prescriptions and their Active Script List (which pharmacists will know as MySL) and has other great features like find and book a health service.
• It also gives access to Medicare services as well as links to information on how to enrol and claim, and much more.
